Aromatherapy Body Lotion , Not Perfect For Everyone

Monday, February 8th, 2010

Using aromatherapy body lotion for every day use is not a sin and can only be beneficial to your overall wellbeing; as it can help soothe your mind, body and soul. With using essential oils from various specific plants, herbs and bark of trees healing can begin when applied with the right kind of hands where it hurts so much which could be very well out of reach for yourself.

Having the feeling of gentle yet soothing hands over your sore muscles may seem to make all your problems go away, even if it is for only a short while. A nice thing is that with using aromatherapy body lotion the effects linger longer under the skin, and takes quite a while before they wear off before needing to redo the whole aromatherapy body lotion process again.

Therapy

Most physiotherapists do not use aromatherapy body lotion, but sometimes an aromatherapy massage lotion; this is due to the concentration of soothing aching muscles. With persistent professional manipulation, bruises will rise to the skin until the wounds are healed under the skin.  Although this is not the norm for physiotherapists to use aromatherapy body lotion on their customers, they safely prefer to use the plainest and simplest of products to reduce allergic reactions by their customers.

Although aroma therapists would preferably use essential oils from plants, herbs and trees to heal their customers aches and pains, allergic reactions do still occur which vary from patient to patient.

It’s All In A Plant

It is not every day that you will find that a lot of people are allergic to the same type of oil that has been processed or tapped from a plant that would normally be considered as a healing plant. For some people the use of tee tree oil burns the skin, while for others simple oil such as rose oil could very well do the same for someone else. Unfortunately trying various concentrated oils on the skin is part of life.

When it comes to trying to heal or soothe or rejuvenate, a process of trial and error, and hopefully no permanent damage is done to the skin.  It is always advised that if you purchase any new product you have not used before, it is wiser to test it on your skin first to see if you have any negative reactions to it. Negative skin reactions will normally begin within a few minutes if not immediately and could last hours depending on what ingredients were used in a product.

Swine Flu And Bird Flu, What Are The Precautions You Can Take And Which Treatments Are Available

Tuesday, August 11th, 2009

We are today (more and more|more} at risk from the various strains of the flu virus. First we had scares over bird flu, but more recently swine flu has become the latest worry. Swine flu is of more concern than bird flu ever was. It was a worry that bird flu could mutate into a form that could infect humans, but for a few cases, this situation did not materialize. Swine flu is a greater concern, the swine flu virus is able to pass from human to human making it a very serious threat.

Swine flu, or to be more correct influenza A (H1N1), is a respiratory disease that effects pigs, it is caused by a flu virus. Swine flu outbreaks in pigs is not uncommon and is only rarely fatal. In the past, swine flu doesn’t normally infect humans, but it can happen occasionally.

Swine flu is very dangerous as it is a new type of virus. This means that no one has been exposed to this particular type of flu before, therefore no one has built up any immunity to this flu strain. It is our immunity that prevents diseases from becoming life threatening, with no immunity to the swine flu virus we are in serious danger from the virus. Everyone is vulnerable, this includes healthy adults and teenagers as well as children and the elderly.

The real concern is what occurs when the flu season starts in the winter. It is then when the flu virus may quickly spread causing widespread illness with possibly over half of the population becoming infected.

Swine flu symptoms are similar to the symptoms of ordinary flu. These can include a sudden, sudden onset of fever, cough or a shortness of breath. Other symptoms that may present themselves include headache, sore throat, aching muscles, chills, sneezing, a runny nose, loss of appetite and tiredness.

Precautions Anyone with the symptoms of a cold or flu needs to take a few easy, but most important precautions. The flu virus is passed between humans from the droplets from the mouth and nose when someone coughs or sneezes. This is the way viruses such as swine flu are spread from person to person. Covering your nose and mouth with your hands when you sneeze or cough is not enough. The germs then live on your hands, and everything you touch afterwards becomes contaminated. Anyone then touching the same place as you will pick up the virus and will then risk becoming infected themselves. Therefore, always use a handkerchief or a tissue. A tissue is far better, this should then be disposed of as soon as possible, try to use a new tissue if you cough or sneeze again.

There are currently no vaccinations that stop anyone catching the swine flu virus. The swine flu virus is a new strain of virus and is not the same as ordinary flu. The annual vaccination against the usual ordinary flu isn’t effective against swine flu. Once the type of flu virus causing swine flu is identified, it will take many months to manufacture. By this time, it may have mutated into a different strain again.

The only effective precaution against the swine flu virus is Tamiflu. Tamiflu isn’t guaranteed to prevent flu, but when someone has been exposed to another person who has the flu virus, Tamiflu can help prevent the virus making a person ill. If Tamiflu is taken within two days of developing flu, Tamiflu can help stop the virus spreading throughout the body, thereby reducing the symptoms and risk associated. Governments are stockpiling Tamiflu, but the supplies will be used to treat key workers and individuals before treating the general population.

You can however buy Tamiflu online, if the situation occurs you can treat yourself and your family. It cannot be emphasized enough, Tamiflu needs to be taken as early as possible if it is to be effective, delays in treatment will reduce the effectiveness of Tamiflu. If you think you may be at a greater risk due to your situation, such as For example living in a city with a large population or working in a busy open plan office, then it may be wise to buy Tamiflu before the flu season begins. If you happen live in the country and do not have close contact with many people then of course your risk will be lower.

Also, remember that swine flu is a worldwide problem. If a pandemic outbreak becomes global it is possible that supplies of Tamiflu may not be great enough to meet a huge global demand.

Until a vaccine is discovered and manufactured in the quantities needed, Tamiflu is the most effective treatment for the swine flu virus.
