How To Start An Online Jewelry Store

Sunday, February 21st, 2010

Opening your own jewelry store has never been easier than it is now. In fact, you can use the Internet to open your own online jewelry store and never stock single piece of jewelry! In fact, your jewelry store could be open for business in less than a day – and the only thing you would need to do is market it! This is pretty much an instant business.

First, find jewelry wholesale suppliers. If you want a truly ‘hands-off’ business, find a wholesaler who will drop ship to your customers. This way, you never have to handle any of the stock. Here is how it works. You get your website set up, with an online jewelry catalog of all of the bracelets, necklaces and earrings that you offer. You market that site to the public. Customers start visiting your site, and they place orders. You forward those orders to the drop shipper, and the drop shipper handles the rest!

Most wholesalers will require you to pay for the merchandise before it is shipped. This shouldn’t be a problem because you will require your customers to pay for their orders at the time the order is placed. Of course, you charge more for the jewelry than the wholesaler charges you.

In most cases, you will be allowed to set your own prices. Look to see what the wholesaler charges you, including shipping, then add 15% to 30% to that price. This is what you should charge your customers.

If you aren’t sure how to go about setting up a website, you can probably find a wholesaler who will provide you with a website. Most of these wholesalers charge a fee for the site, and your site will usually look like all of their other distributors. This should be your last option.

You may consider opening an eBay store. There is a fee for this as well, but at least your store will be unique. You can also bypass the eBay store and simply set up eBay auctions, which are very affordable for everyone. Make sure that you set a minimum reserve price for the jewelry that you are selling so that you don’t lose money, and make sure that the buyer pays all shipping costs and insurance.

Again, setting up an online jewelry store with unique jewelry necklaces, bracelets and earrings is one of the easiest ways to start a business today. You can literally be up and running in a few short hours, and making money within twenty-four hours of opening your own online jewelry store.

Back to School Clothes

Sunday, August 30th, 2009

It’s no secret that money is often tight and sometimes we can’t have every little thing we want. But that’s no reason to keep us from spicing up our look every now and then. And that is why they invented the back to school teen clothing sale! For a teenage girl, going back to school isn’t something that comes out of nowhere, as if it were a big surprise. This also means that our favorite clothing stores are not surprised by this yearly event, and so, they are well prepared to sell us all of the latest teen fashions and designs we love, for half the price!

Now is the time to keep your eyes peeled for such a girls outfits sale. Just take a walk through the nearest mall and you’ll see a deal on every corner. But here’s a word of caution. If we’re not careful, we can get swept away into “sale land” and end up buying a whole bunch of stuff we don’t need, for less. Here are a few basic essentials that won’t steer you wrong.

JEANS
If you have a pair of jeans that you just love and fit you perfect, keep them! Take good care of them! Having a good pair of jeans is like having a good friend. If you care for them, they’ll care for you. If you’re still on a quest to find the right jeans for you, at an affordable price, try Forever 21. They offer skinny jeans for $12.50. And that’s the regular price! Imagine what a back to school sale would be like at that store! Old Navy, Target and the Gap are also known for having quality jeans and fabulous sales.

ACCESSORIES
Any outfit can be new again by adding some fun accessories. With decorative headbands, hair clips, scarves and necklaces, you can decorate yourself throughout the whole school year. Shoes are also a fun way to stand out from the crowded hallways, but be sure they are comfortable. You don’t want to bomb that math quiz because your feet are on fire! Payless Shoe Source is a perfect place to find today’s styles. And their BOGO sale (buy on, get on free), can’t be beat.

PLAIN TEES, VESTS & HOODIES
As the weather will inevitably cool off, layering is a wonderful option. When you come across a sale that offers plain items in all colors, don’t be afraid to stock up. A plain white tee looks great on it’s own, but when you add a vest or jacket, or any of the above accessories, it becomes an entirely different outfit! Target, Forever 21 and H&M are perfect place to find these items, and they all offer a sale section year around.
